True to "Pilates in Layers" style I spoke of the target muscles, contraindications, and modifications with props. I love the version of the Chest Lift using the small ball behind the back, and the back extension stretch that precedes the exercise! I encourage you two try it, and let me know how it feels to you and your clients!
There are two very important contraindications of Chest Lift/Abdominal Curl that I did not mention in the video. First are clients with osteoporosis, especially when there is a history of fractures. Second spinal flexion is contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. More on those special populations here and here.
